On my feet

A major time lapse from any posts on my blog were taken up by doctor's appointments, self reflection, prayer and healing. This is my first post since my modified radical mastectomy four days ago. I am feeling strong and keeping my soul fed through the love and care of family and friends. I wanted to post these photos to thank you all for your continued support and prayers.

I'm trying to keep a bit of style in my life and this blue gingham boy's shirt was the perfect way to cover up all my bandages and drains. The leggings are easy to lounge in and the leopard slip-ons add a fun touch.

Super Sunday

This is the outfit I wore to a friend's house on Sunday. It wasn't a super bowl party but, rather a super Sunday in a home and around people that you can just, be.

I've worn versions of this outfit before but, this is the first time I've put on the bubble necklace and it takes an outfit from just okay to perfect.

Encouraging news, yesterday I had a brain MRI and it was negative for any cancerous metastases. My husband commented on how, now, we are celebrating the small victories. It is still in my bone and yesterday I had a bone biopsy/aspiration of my sternum. I am awaiting the results. Thank you for your continued prayers and words of support, it means so much.

What I wore to Oncology

I've been wanting to take outfit pictures but, with all the running to doctor's appointments and being distracted, I've failed.

I've put together a few good outfits but did not document them. These pictures are taken with my husband's phone for my first consultation with oncologists. I really loved this outfit, I felt great in it and I loved the way it looked together.

Thrifted, hand knit sweater vest, love.

I purchased this silk scarf about 8 years ago from J.Crew and still love it!

The basics of the outfit were vibrant red J.Crew Minnie pants and cream Blythe blouse. To top it off, I wore my camel J.Crew plaza coat and brown Frye boots. I planned to take pictures when we got home but we were too exhausted from a long day of intense meetings with many doctors.

Cancer update: I have been classified as stage IV breast cancer with metastasis to the sternum. Early next week I will have a bone biopsy and with the results, my oncologists will map a course of action, with the first step being a mastectomy and lymph node removal. Please keep praying.
